‘Kestřany’ ring – total length 35 km
Points of interest: Kestřany – set of feudal residences with courtyards: Upper fort from the second half of the 13th century, Lower fort from the 14th century, at the location of the original third fort stands a Baroque chateau from the second half of the 17th century and farming buildings. The oldest known occupant was Albert of Kestřany. The fort changed ownership many times, the most famous owners being the Švamberks. Today, the forts are in private ownership, accessible to the public, the original early Baroque Church of St Catherine was rebuilt in the shape of a cross in 1852, golf course, Dobev – semi-detached houses and the Church of St Briccius, Putim – church, rectory, ossuary, Švejk’s police station on film, Heřman – home town of poet Jan Čarek, the Church of St Giles, Ražice – examples of national brick buildings, natural amphitheatre, Řežabinec fish pond – nature reserve, nature trail, Lhota u Kestřan – on the other side of the village before the bridge and down on the right you can swim, across the bridge the baldachin Chapel of the Holy Cross from the end of the 17th century, and two protected white elm trees.
