History
The first written mention about Drahonice is from 1257. The local stronghold with a rounded tower from the 14th century was originally protected only by clay fences which were replaced by brick fortifications. According to the excerpts from the duke archives the Lords from Drahonice had a “shot” in their sign. The village has a typical south Bohemian irregular rectangle shaped village square and some Blata type estates from the 1st period of the 19th century were preserved here.
Albrechtice – the settlement lies about 2km eastward from Drahonice. It is written in the village chronicle: “Albrechtice count 21settled houses and in 1880 it had 142 inhabitants, in 1890 127 inhabitants. The duke sheep-fold, the Kušovský Mill, which was lately bought by the duke manor togrther with the land, some ponds on the village square and in the vicinity of the village can be found in Albrechtice. The Albrechtice municipality has its own property which consists of the common cottage, fields, meadow, forests and pastures.
